AYF to Donate Olympic Concession Profit to Armenian Orphanages

At this year's annual Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) Olympic games held September 3-6, attendees might feel less like spectators and more like participants because every dollar they spend on concessions at the swimming, softball, and track and field events will be donated to the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) sponsored orphanages in Armenia.

The ARS Chicago Zabelle Chapter will be working in conjunction with the AYF Chicago Ararat Chapter to coordinate and prepare the concessions. Proceeds from the sales will go to the ARS Regional Executive, who will be responsible for dividing the funds among the 51 orphanages across Armenia and Artsakh, which provide housing for more than 10,000 orphaned and abandoned children.

"We are proud of the athletes and happy to support the AYF at such a festive occasion. We are also pleased to be presented with an opportunity to raise funds for the children in need," said Zabelle chapter president Silva Panossian.
